Erin Timms

Graduated from Youngstown State University magna cum laude in May 2003, receiving a BA in art history . In addition to a minor in history, I also received a certificate in historic preservation. My three-years experience working at a steel mill and the industrial history of Youngstown, Ohio was influencial in directing my interest in industrial archaeology. My last year at YSU I participated in archaeological excavation of the Trumbull Blast Furnace, circa 1826. My thesis will be on the excavation of the blast furnace at the West Point Foundry with a particular focus on the blowing engine technology used at the site. I have also done extensive work with documenting and nominating worker housing for the Ohio Historic Preservation Office and National Register Nomination for the Terminus for the Erie Canal in Buffalo.
