Purposes

The purposes of the Northern New England Chapter of the Society for Industrial Archeology (NNEC-SIA) are in accord with those of the Society for Industrial Archeology.  They are:

Scope
The NNEC-SIA functions to carry out its purposes in the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and northeastern New York.  In doing so, the NNEC-SIA serves as a forum and information exchange between professionals, avocationals and others who subscribe to the carrying out of the chapter's purposes within the said designated region.
Publications
The NNEC-SIA and the Southern New England Chapter of the Society for Industrial Archeology (SNEC-SIA) jointly publish a periodic newsletter.  The Society for Industrial Archeology · New England Chapters newsletter serves as a vehicle to update the membership on the chapters' activities.  The newsletter also serves as a forum for members to present results of their current research efforts and/or their concerns in the form of scholarly perspectives, site analyses or retrospective articles on various topics pertaining to industrial archeology in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Northeastern New York.
Organization
The governing body of the NNEC-SIA is an Executive Board consisting of the chapter's executive officers who are elected by the membership of the chapter who are also members of the Society for Industrial Archeology.  The elections are held annually at the chapter's annual meeting.  The Executive Board meets upon call of the chapter's President to conduct the business of the chapter.
Membership
Membership in the NNEC-SIA is open to all persons regardless of age, sex, race, or religious beliefs who wish to participate with other members in achieving the purposes of the Chapter, in accordance with its bylaws, and the purposes of the Society for Industrial Archeology and its bylaws.
