The workshop will be held on the 7th floor of the Franklin Square Inn in downtown Houghton, with a view out over the Quincy Smelter, a site considered for several types of adaptive reuse since its closure in the 1960s. The smelter is currently undergoing environmental testing and remediation by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, and we will visit the site during the course of this workshop. http://www.bestwesternmichigan.com/hotels/best-western-franklin-square-inn/
