Chapter events are familiar with the "pop-up" paper model of the site.
Chapter members with animation and CAD experience are needed at this
point to develop some simple 3D modeling, e.g. of a Knight water motor
for VRML display on the site.

Jay McCauley, Anthony Templer and Andy Fahrenwald met subsequently
on July 15th over Anthony's computer and developed a complete outline
of the system structure. Jay will add this "under construction" version to
the Chapter Website in the near future for your comments and ideas. Call

July 19 and 20, 10am to 4pm. Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Fall Creek,
a unit of the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. (South Bay)Shuttle
busses from the Henry Cowell parking lot will be running. Wear
comfortable shoes for the 1 mile walk to the lime kilns. On Saturday, join
the "old-timers" at the kilns and learn about the IXL Lime Co. operation.
On Sunday, docents will lead nature walks. On both days, displays will be
on view at the nature center and at the kilns. Information on this event

Saturday, July 26th

This San Francisco waterfront and labor history BOAT TOUR of the
monuments and sites of San Francisco's maritime history has been
organized by the Samuel Knight Chapter in conjunction with Laborfest '97.
It will feature leading historians, experts and veteran participants recalling
the fascinating and colorful story of the heyday of West Coast's premiere
port as we cruise the waterfront aboard the Harbor King. At 10 am we
leave from the Ferry Building at the foot of Market Street and return at 2
pm to board the Jeremiah O'Brien two blocks south of the Ferry Building.
Parking may be available at the Jeremiah O'Brien parking lot prior to the
boat tour.
